الملخص

This study reviews the existing literature on the Value-Added Tax (VAT) and its impact on the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It examines the relationship between VAT-related criteria, such as knowledge, awareness, and regulatory standards, as well as the performance levels and efficiency within SMEs. Key indicators include employee performance levels in SMEs. The findings reveal a varied correlation between VAT-related criteria and company performance across different countries, highlighting distinctions between developing and developed nations. Several studies have investigated the impact of VAT on SME performance, providing valuable insights into various aspects such as VAT rates and SME competitiveness, VAT exemption policies, and VAT refund mechanisms. These comparative studies collectively enhance our understanding of how VAT policies affect SME performance, emphasizing the need for tailored regulatory measures to support SME growth and sustainability in diverse economic contexts.
The study also identifies variations in VAT awareness based on the educational levels of SME employees, underscoring the necessity for tailored VAT education and regulatory strategies to boost SME performance. Future research should explore the dynamic interactions between VAT policies and SME growth trajectories in various economic contexts.
