Any journal that is published in or primarily focuses on the Arab world, Middle East, or North Africa. Both open access and subscription journals are welcome.
Yes — the initial eligibility check is completely free. Fees are only charged after your journal passes the screening and you choose a plan.
A minimum of 20 published articles. The journal must also have been active for at least 2 years.
Journals publishing in Arabic, English are accepted. Bilingual journals are encouraged.
Yes. A rejected journal may resubmit after addressing the identified gaps. There is no waiting period, but a new submission fee applies.
Review Process
The standard SLA is 60 days from payment confirmation. Priority plans offer faster timelines (30 days or 14 days).
Journals are assessed on citation impact, editorial quality, H-index, open access compliance, and peer review rigour — each with a defined scoring weight.
Yes. All journals — approved or rejected — receive a detailed score report with reviewer comments.
You will receive email updates at each stage, plus a submission reference number after payment.
Yes. One appeal is allowed within 30 days of the decision. Appeals are reviewed by a senior panel within 14 business days.
Pricing & Payment
Only after your journal passes the free eligibility check. You then choose a plan and pay to begin the full review.
Major credit/debit cards (via Stripe) and bank transfers. Institutional purchase orders are accepted on request.
You receive a full refund within 14 business days of the rejection decision.
Yes. You receive a renewal notice 60 days before expiry. Indexing is suspended if a plan is not renewed.
Yes, at any time. You pay only the pro-rated difference for the remainder of your billing period.
AMS Score & Ranking
It is a weighted composite of citation impact, editorial quality, H-index analytics, open access status, and peer review rigour — scored 0–100.
Citation data is synced quarterly via CrossRef. Full re-evaluations run annually.
Q1: 75–100 (Top-tier), Q2: 50–74 (High quality), Q3: 25–49 (Established), Q4: 0–24 (Under observation).
The score is the primary ranking factor within each subject category. Ties are broken by citation volume.
API & Technical
Professional and Elite plans include REST API access to your journal's AMS data.
Score history, quartile placement, citation metrics, author lists, and paper-level data. Full documentation is available in the API docs.
AMS pulls metadata automatically from CrossRef using your journal's ISSN. No manual upload is needed.
Yes. All indexed journals receive an embeddable HTML/SVG badge that displays your live score and quartile. It updates automatically.
